A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that service. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless a legal duty requires disclosure to someone else.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view

No Criminal-Record Data on File
This site neither keeps nor sells a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to request Bent County material from the sheriff, Bent Combined Court, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and the Colorado Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information submitted through those tools. Review the applicable provider policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Bent County sheriff, Colorado courts and agencies, legal aid groups, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy terms apply. Read them before providing personal data.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
